GESTR

In our everyday lives many of us experience less compassion and hospitality now a days and especially compared to only a decade ago. Did you use to go around to your friends place and unannounced check if they were at home by knocking on the front door? Now a days very few of us visit someone without calling or texting first and it makes us wonder, were we the last generation who did just that? The social aspect of hospitality has changed a lot over the last two decades and maybe it's reaching a point where it should be considered for UNESCO's list of distinct cultures?

With this in mind, what is the most important thing we as hosts can give our guests? Is it availability? 

GESTR features the dancers and choreographers Sudesh Adhana and Hallgrim Hansegård who have been inspired by regional traditions such as Upanishads and Håvamål, to shine a light on the extreme aspects of the relationship between the host and the guest. Through familiarising themselves with the relationship between the host and the guest, Adhana and Hansegård have developed unique movements, choreographies and strategies to create a space where both hosts and guests can explore the importance of hospitality. GESTR will be preformed to music made by Amina Sewali.

Adhana and Hansegård would like to invite you in the audience to attend a performance that will act as  messenger where you, the guest, are highly valuable to the hosts.
